The former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday alongside two of his close associates visited the new Ooni of Ife again. He commended his efforts so far for trying to unite Yorubas. On arrival to the palace, the former president of the federation was ushered in by drummers and praise singers who all hailed him and sang his praises while dancing behind him.
Obasanjo and his associates however prostrated flat on entering the palace where the Oba was seated. While commending his efforts, Obasanjo said;
“I commend the role of Ooni in ensuring peace in Yorubaland. Continue what you are doing, especially your unity course. I am happy with the moves so far. It is only a sign of honour for the Ooni to visit anyone. That does not deny Ile-Ife of its position in the history of Yorubaland,” he said.
The Oba also thanked him for visiting. Another photo below….
