3 ECOBANK Employees Arrested For Allegedly Stealing N2.8 Million From Customers’ Accounts


Reports are in that three Ecobank employees have been arrested in Lagos earlier today for allegedly stealing N2.8 million from customers’ accounts.
According to DailyPost, the suspects named Oluwatoyin Adetunji, Oluwatosin Obademiand Olushola Ogunshinaare currently facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and stealing and appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos Island today.
The suspects were said to have forged signatures of several Ecobank customers between July 10 and 14, 2015, and stolen the sum of N2.8million from their accounts at the Iyana-Ipaja branch of the bank. Adetunji and Obademi, are cashiers while Ogunshina is an Information Technology personnel at the bank.
According to the prosecutor, Obademi and Ogunshinaclaimed that Adetunji came to them with the deal and promised to pay them N350,000 each. The case has been adjourned to Feb. 22 for hearing, however the Chief Magistrate, Mrs K.B Ayeye, has granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
