Mourinho Pens 6-Page Job Application Letter To Manchester United |Mendes Reacts

The agent of José Mourinho, Jorge Mendes, has branded a report making the rounds, claiming the Portuguese wrote to Manchester United regarding his credentials to be the next manager as “ridiculous and absurd”, The Guardian reports.
An early report in The Independent on Sunday, January 24, claimed 52-year-old Mourinho had sent Manchester United a six-page letter in which he outlined why he would be a suitable fit for the position currently occupied by embattled Louis van Gaal.

The media house disclosed that since parting ways with Chelsea in December, Mourinho had outline in details his blueprint to resuscitate the Old Trafford giants who slumped to a 1-0 loss to Southampton on Saturday, January 23, 2016.

The timing of Mourinho’s reported contact with United is interesting as frustrated Old Trafford fans booed their team off the pitch in the aftermath of their latest setback.
Van Gaal is again under pressure following Saturday’s listless 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton, which came due to a late Charlie Austin strike. It was United’s first defeat since Boxing Day when the 2-0 reverse at Stoke City left Van Gaal’s job in the balance.
Mourinho has been linked with the United job before when Alex Ferguson left to be replaced by David Moyes in 2013.
Manchester United, who are fifth in the league and five points off the Champions League places, have taken 37 points from their first 23 games – their lowest total in the Premier League era.
