Kiss Daniel has announced plans to release his first ever album this year, 2016.
The rising pop sensation, who lost out of the controversial Next Rated category at the 10 edition of the Headies, wrote an open letter of gratitude to his fans, where he made the announcement.
“This year 2016 is going to be bigger and better; my debut album drops this year, and with the work put into it by myself, my team, and that of the artistes magnanimous enough to feature on it, I am positive that this will be the year,” Kiss Daniel wrote.
The album will be the culmination of a good run by the singer who has enjoyed immense acceptance of his songs including ‘Woju’, ‘Laye’, and ‘Good time’.
Kiss Daniel lost out at the Headies to Mavin Records singer Reekado Banks who also beat label mate Korede Bello, YBNL’s Lil Kesh, and Northside Inc. Cynthia Morgan.
“If I quit music now I have achieved all I wanted” said Reekado Banks when he received his award.
This is not the first time Banks has gone head to head with Lil Kesh at The Headies, in 2014, the Mavin Records beat the YBNL act to win the Rookie of the Year category.
While the ‘Katapult’ crooner was on stage to receive his award, host of the event, Bovi, made light of Steve Harvey’s blunder at the Miss Universe pageant last year. The comedian said he might have made a mistake stating that he said “Reekado Blanks and not “Reekado Banks”.
The Next Rated artist also wins a brand new Hyundai car.
The 10th edition of the awards show was held in Lagos on January 1, 2016.
